About Jeff Shirk Lacrosse Camps

Jeff Shirk Lacrosse Camps are dedicated to helping young lacrosse players realize, develop, and achieve their goals. All campers, beginner and advanced, will be guided to reach their full potential in the game of lacrosse.

Campers will benefit from the expert instruction of Jeff Shirk, college coaches from across the country, and some of the best college lacrosse players in the game today.

Jeff Shirk played at the collegiate level for four seasons, the professional level for three seasons, and is now entering his ninth year in the coaching profession. Shirk came to VMI in August of 2006 after serving as the defensive coordinator at Brown University.

Shirk spent the 2004-05 season with his alma mater, Maryland, as an assistant coach, helping the team reach the NCAA semi-finals and win an ACC Championship. Shirk took over the lacrosse program at the Naval Academy Preparatory School (NAPS) in the fall of 2001. He spent three seasons with the team, leading them to a 22-11 overall record.

While playing at the University of Maryland, Shirk was a standout letterman in the Maryland Terrapins defense for four seasons under coaching legend Dick Edell from 1997-2000. Throughout his career, he was known for his work ethic and tough style of defense. Shirk also played in the National Lacrosse League for the Washington Power (2001) and the New York Saints (2002-03) while he began his coaching career at NAPS.
