2007 Instructional Camp at the Virginia Military Institute |
|
The Instructional Camp was held from June 27-30, 2007, at the Virginia Military Institute. The camp was a success and will be held again in Summer 2008. This camp was designed for beginner to advanced lacrosse players; boys 7-18. Through an enjoyable environment, players learned the fundamentals of lacrosse from an experienced staff.

Camp Details The camp was led by Jeff Shirk, Head Lacrosse Coach at VMI. Time was spent developing all areas of the game perfect for every experience level in an upbeat and enjoyable environment. Participants either stayed at VMI as overnight campers or attended as day campers. There was a 6 to 1, camper to staff ratio, so the staff was able to pay a great deal of individual attention to the campers.

Team Building During camp, participants had the opportunity to take part in team building exercises. These exercises were conducted by a member of the VMI physical education department. Included were activities that VMI Cadets perform throughout the academic year such as the obstacle course, ropes courses, climbing walls, and other team building exercises. All campers participated in the exercises and it added a unique and enjoyable experience for them. |
